Just a couple Valentine ideas...

It's almost Valentine's Day and if I'm going to do anything or make anything special, I had better get to it.

Here's a cute card idea, and it's fast and easy too! There's even an embellished envelope to go along with it. I almost like the envelope better than the card.

Even if you don't own this same fabric, there are many possibilities with the fabrics you do have. Many of the floral fabrics would look great and there's certainly no shortage of polka dots to be had. That's assuming you want to use florals. I think many of the Kaffe and Philip Jacobs fabrics (or any fabric) would work great in this project.

These treat bags are a cute idea... really cute idea. I'm just not quite sure how practical they are, but who (besides me) is into being practical. I still like them and think they're c.u.t.e. Of course, it would be just as easy to make the toppers out of paper (and more practical, imho)... just another thought.

Look at this CUTE punched Heart Garland. I love it!! I think I love the paint strips with the punched hearts even better than the garland.

There are soooo many cute ideas - everywhere you look. I'm constantly amazed by the creativity of the blog community.

Some cute Valentine ideas...

I love these ideas...they're simple and easy! Like the garland - wouldn't it be cute using red/white fabrics like stripes, dots, plaids and solids?

These lampshades are absolutely adorable! I think this is a great idea and unique too! Lots of opportunities for great fabrics here!

The wreath is probably the more typical decoration, but it's still very cute, nonetheless.

Then, there are these clever cards/tags created from stamped paint chips. I love this idea! It's from Country Living.

Happy Valentine's Day to you...

My husband came home yesterday with this little Valentine's bouquet for me. One of his co-workers and her mother were making (and selling) these little bouquets to help fund a heart monitoring device for a young woman who had had a heart attack. I loved this...not only because it was a wonderful cause but it was also a very creative idea!


These are Hershey's kisses that have been wrapped together, end-to-end, in cellophane to create a "rosebud." Each rosebud and a silk leaf were then attached to a stem using floral tape and six stems were used to create each bouquet! A "Happy Valentine's Day" tag was tied around the bouquet along with some red and pink ribbons. All in all, a very clever idea!

Sweetheart Socks...

Isn't this a wonderful pattern for socks! Aren't they the cutest? Wow! You might not have enough time for knitting these socks before Valentines Day this year, but you could get a really good start on next year! The best part? This pattern is free!

Valentine baking ideas...

My favorite online shop for baking supplies, Fancy Flours, is at it again. They always have the cutest and most clever decorating ideas for every holiday. Look at these adorable "Bee Mine" cupcakes.


This "I Love You" postcard reminds me of all the quilted postcards that we, as quilters, make. I love how this looks.


And, these take me back to my childhood. Do you remember exchanging these kind of "retro" valentines (cards, not cookies) with your schoolmates? It was just simple fun!
