I love this tote bag...

Pat has been very busy sewing this summer while she's been visiting back east. She's the most productive person I know and she always makes things that I end up loving. Look at this recent Poolside Tote she made for a commission. Isn't that the most wonderful fabric choice?

She'll be back here is so cal in another three weeks or so and I cannot wait. She and I have lots of "sewing" plans!! I know my Tuesday and Thursday groups will be happy to see her too!

My favorite so far!

Wow... I love this Zip & Go bag in this fabric combination. It's an asian-influenced Art Gallery fabric with Kaffe's Mirage Stripe as a lining. I knew as I was working on it Saturday afternoon that I was really liking it, but I had no idea how much until I was finished with it!

This is one of those colors that is hard for me to photograph. The true color is a bit more dusty and grayed. My husband took this bag in to show his co-worker's today, along with some of Pat's Two-zip Hipsters. I suspect that it will sell, and I'll be sorry to see it go.

Speaking of Pat's bags... with her permission I'm showing you the recent Poolside Tote she made using Noodlehead's pattern. Pat has such a way for combining fabrics. I just love this bag she's done with a canvas fabric. She also used Soft & Stable in it even though the pattern doesn't call for it. That chevron handle is perfect, don't you think?

I've got a treat for you today!

Today I want to share with you all the great 2-Zip Hipsters that my friend Pat has made. She's the one who introduced me to this bag pattern and taught the class I took. She has been sewing bags/pouches/totes of all kinds for many years now and is an expert at it. She knows all the tricks/tips that make a good bag into a great bag. The mother of three daughters, who although I've not met them yet, sound like they have exceptionally good taste, you can just imagine all the great bags she's made for them. She doesn't limit her sewing to bags though, and sews clothing for her grand kids too. And, on top of all that, she is the nicest person you would ever want to meet.

The above bag is a beautiful pale grey and the outer rings on the red flower are more of a blue-red than an orange-red. This is one of those color combinations that is difficult to photograph.

Aren't they wonderful? I bought one from her and I love it. I didn't show it here because I didn't want to make anyone jealous! :)) Yes, I could have made it myself, but then I would have had to hunt down the main bag and lining fabrics (I love the fabrics she used) if I could still find it, the right size/color zippers and the hardware. Decided it was in my best interest to buy it from her... besides, I like the idea of owning a bag that Pat made. :)
