Dyeing eggs for Easter...

I finished dyeing easter eggs a couple of hours ago and they are drying on the rack. I'll move them into a nice bowl in a little while and they'll be used as part of a centerpiece on the table. Even though we have no kids, we are kids at heart and still love to dye eggs. I don't know if you'll be able to see it in the photos but the majority of these eggs look like they have a band of darker color around the middle. I don't have a clue why this happened, but it was certainly nothing that I intentionally did. Funny...

Anyway, hope you are having a lovely weekend. The weather here is wonderful today and we hope it will be the same tomorrow. DH plays trumpet in an Easter service tomorrow morning and then we'll probably take one of our "Sunday drives" in the afternoon.

Hope your Easter (if you celebrate) is a happy one.

Who knew?

When I did my "Easter Ideas" post the other day, I had no idea that that BHG Umbrella was such a popular item. Apparently it's been pinned on Pinterest and lots of people have seen/like it. Two of my blog friends have made it and have graciously allowed me to share their photos and blog links with you.

This is Sally's colorful umbrella. This photo was taken with her iPhone. Well done, Sally! It's beautiful. She mentioned that she already had the flowers and purchased the umbrella for $11.00. You can find Sally at her blog, CrossRhoads. I encourage her to blog more frequently because she does absolutely beautiful work, but she is experiencing some downloading/uploading problems with her new Mac.  :(

And this is Jann's gorgeous umbrella. I just found Jann recently as a result of participating in Mosaic Monday at Little Red House. In addition to having a gorgeous home and an eye for decorating, she's a terrific photographer. Visit her at Have a Daily Cup from Mrs. Olson to see her entire post. I love the subtle, pastel colors she's used.

If you've also done the Easter Umbrella, please leave a comment with a URL to your blog. I would love to see it.

Easter's just around the corner...

I started looking for some easy Easter decorating ideas since Easter is almost here. We do very simple decorating for any holidays, but I always love to look for great ideas anyway.

Better Homes & Gardens always has ideas that I love. They're simple and usually quite inexpensive but are really quite clever and always cute/pretty.

Since I collect vintage postcards this idea appeals to me.

Isn't this a clever idea? I wish I had an umbrella in that color. Actually, I have a plaid one (like the plaid in the photo above) that might look good. Of course, my front door is black so it might not look a lot like "Easter" but it would be fun to try.

I might have to do this too. It's simple and I love the idea of working with just one design element. Brussels sprouts not only taste good, they are beautiful to look at. Who doesn't love a topiary?

It's always fun to find a new way to display flowers and vegetables. I love the small carrots in this, aren't they cute?

Here's a cute egg idea using fabric strips. After reading the instructions, I think they seem pretty easy to do,

This cute idea came from Country Living. Easy to do and would work for many occasions. I think I would use pastel paper bags and yellow jelly beans.

Oh...I love this cake idea. Easy and so clever! If you have kids they could help with this. How fun!

Hope these few ideas get you started thinking about Easter, if you haven't already.

Take care,
