It's finally here...

I've been waiting for this collection with anticipation and I'm so happy to say that it's here! It's called Glow.

This, I think, is one of Amy's best collections in a very long time and I'm anxious to start using it. If you want to start using it too, you can find it here!

I think it would be great in a quilt combined with Anna Maria Horner's Pretty Potent collection.

My new obsession

This seems to be my latest obsession! I love these bags and I love making them. It's so much fun to match fabrics, zippers and hardware.

I finished up the Two-zip Hipster I made for a friend yesterday morning and then, since I already had this bag all cut out, I went ahead and made it up too. I'm almost at the point where I can do it without consulting the pattern now. :)

I used Amy Butler's Soul Blossom Peacock Feathers fabric for the outside of the bag and Rhapsodia by Art Gallery Fabrics for the lining.

Fun, fun, fun!

It seems that having fun has become my mantra and that's ok with me. Believe me - I'm making up for lost time! Making these bags has been fun. For some reason, this is a pattern that I find easy and when it's finished it looks great! I took three of these in to share with my quilting group on Thursday and two of them sold. Another is spoken for and the last one will go into my shop. And, I've got more cut out and ready to sew!

This is the bag that is listed in the shop. It's made from Amy Butler's Soul Blossom line with a Robert Kaufman lining. Cute, don't you think?

We took a very short "Sunday drive" this afternoon and were surprised to come upon this field of wild mustard. The drought conditions we're experiencing had not prepared us for this gorgeous sight!

An international customer purchased Amy Butler's LOVE FQ Pack and wanted it shipped in a global priority envelope. Well, that means that this...

had to become this...

in order to fit in the envelope. No problem, except that when I unfolded the original FQ pack all the fabrics were wrinkled. I couldn't stand that so I pressed each and every one of them before re-folding them this way. Above and beyond, I would say. But that's only cuz I'm crazy!!

Unusual weather and great news!

We're having very odd weather for So California, but I'm loving it! With the exception of the last couple of days in which temps were in the mid 80's, we've had an unseasonably cold fall! We never have leaves changing colors, at least not nearly as much as we've had this year. And, we never have piles of leaves needing to be raked! It's beautiful!!

These pics were taken on my drive and back this morning to my Dr.'s office. There is lots of variety on this route and it's always pleasant to drive it!

And now for the great news! Soul Blossom has arrived and I'm in the process of photographing each fabric and getting them listed in my shop! I hope to be finished by Friday/Saturday. It's a gorgeous line!

I can hardly wait!

Amy Butler presented her new line Soul Blossom at Houston Quilt Market this past week and although I didn't attend, I got a preview via a secret link to her website. It's now gone public so you can visit and see it for yourself if you want to. She has some very clever and fun ideas

I've included some photos of the line broken down into colorways. This first one is Passion.
