I started (& finished) something new...

I told myself I would not start anything new this year, but I needed a portable project and I did not feel like working on my Route 66 embroidery project. So I gave in and started knitting another scarf. And, finished it!

I'm counting it as another "finished project" for the year (#11), even though it wasn't a WIP to begin with. I'm willing to do anything that keeps me motivated!! :)

Tuesday fun!

It's Tuesday and that means my quilting group meeting. I didn't take much to work on today so I helped Katie draw/cut freezer paper templates for her orange peel blocks. She only needs 60 more and the ones she's already done are gorgeous. Of course, I didn't think to take pics of them. :) She's making them with Kaffe fabrics so you can imagine how great they are.

But, I did take pics of Jane's NY Beauty block starts.

This one, below, is my favorite so far...

She's making enough blocks for two wall-hanging sized quilts... one for a daughter's new apartment and the other one is for a church auction. She's generous that way!

I always enjoy seeing what's going on with my quilting friends.

Stocking the shop...

I've been stocking my etsy shop a bit recently. I've added some additional fabrics and today I added this lovely wool scarf. I haven't been able to list very many of these scarves because as soon as I get them made, they sell.

They make lovely gifts. I have several that I've made for myself and they are very comfortable and warm scarves. If you are interested, this one can be found here.

My lastest scarf and QAL...

I've been working on a new scarf in the evenings. Just taking it slow and easy. I've decided that rather than change yarn colors every time one runs out, I'll keep using the same colors, even if I have to order more. I'm just liking the way this one looks. It's dark and moody.

Yesterday, I spent some time in the sewing room cutting strips for my Fractured quilt. I'll post photos during the QAL that Vicki's hosting. Have you heard about it? It's a group of us that weren't able to take a class with Kathy when she was here teaching it. There's an open invitation to anyone and everyone who would like to join in and I'm hoping that lots of you will accept! I've got about 2/3 of the HST/values quilt top sewn together. I stopped sewing when I finished the audiobook I was listening to and will start again now that I have a new one - Bury Your Dead by Louise Penny.
