It's Saturday morning!

I woke up early this morning and decided it was the perfect day for Chocolate Chip scones. I found this recipe awhile ago and have made it several times with great success. I used half and half this time since that's what I had on hand and the scones tasted very, very good!

I probably should have placed one of the scones on a pretty plate with a nice napkin and fork along side it as props but it never occurred to me to do that until right now. No matter what the photo looks like, they tasted great! :)

Anyway, I've got my quilt top sewn together and am working on the backing right now. Hoping to get it sandwiched and pinned today so I can begin quilting it tomorrow or early next week.

I'm still working on the second (blue-based) knitted scarf, in the evenings as we watch tv, and am going to block the first one I finished this afternoon. Now that I don't carry/cut/package fabric and spend so much time in the office every day, I'm finding that I have time to knit and quilt and I'm taking advantage of it!

I just finished listening to A Trick of the Light by Louise Penny. I went from Still Life to this one not realizing that it was out of order so now I know a few things that I'm trying to forget as I go back to the second book in the series! :)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Take care,

Must be a chocolate chip kinda day. I just put a chocolate chip banana bundt cake in the oven. Had been collecting over-ripe bananas in the freezer and it just seemed like the kind of day to make use of them.

Your scones sound wonderful. Have only made them from a box recipe. Will have to try these. Wonder if you could use dried cranberries?

Glad to hear you have more time for knitting and quilting. How's the shoulder doing?

The scones look delicious! Anything is great with chocolate chips. I've have to go make some cookies before it gets too hot out.

I've never had scones with chocolate chips and we are a nation of scone eaters. I'll take your word for it that they were delicious. It sounds like your busy so the talking books are a great idea. I've enjoyed a few from the same author.
