Started something new...

I'm still working on my NY Beauty quilt...only have 5 more blocks to complete! Yeah!! But, in the meantime, I needed something a bit more portable. Something I could take to my small group meetings so I can sew instead of just sit. :)

I was planning on using my little white featherweight, but at the last minute it stopped running. Hubby is going to take it apart and fix it, but instead of waiting for that to happen, I just used one of my black ones. It's in great shape and just purrs along. I don't know why, but I still prefer sewing on the white one....something about the color I think.

Anyway, I started some strips sets and will show them to you as I go along. These are the first two sets I made.

I'm trying to use up a lot of my older stash, which consists of more muted and toned colors than what I presently prefer. I'm finding that they all go together and, in fact, the older fabrics just make the newer fabrics looks that much better! I've got enough strips cuts to probably make about 5 quilts! lol

Take care,

Love the cherries and fish strips you threw in there. So fun! Using scraps is so much fun.
