Feelin' a little down...

I"ve been feeling a bit down lately. I'm not asking/looking for sympathy because I know we all, from time to time, feel down. I'm just saying. But, it's contributed to a feeling of being "brain dead" in terms of coming up with content to fill these pages.

Anyway, I did get the pillows completed that I talked about awhile ago. I'm only showing them to you here as proof that I actually do get a few things done now and then. :)

I'm very happy with them and glad I got them done before summer is at an end....since I did make them as "summer" pillows. I made one of the green "zebra' stripe and two of the "spots".

The garden is still looking pretty good even though we're now starting to have temps in the upper 90s. My "Champion" tomato plant is taller than I am and loaded with tomatoes. I've never had a tomato plant grow that tall before. I can't wait for the tomatoes to ripen as I'm pretty sure they are going to taste wonderful. This is a pic of one of the potted dahlias that sits on the back patio. It's a short and squat little plant - a survivor from last season - but it's got some really beautiful blooms on it.

I'm still wanting to do some fabric dyeing this summer. Wanting to try "ice dyeing" since I haven't done that before and I love everyones results that I've seen. I've gotta clean off a couple of tables in the garage before that can happen and it's just too hot right now to even think about.

I'm heading out the door now to pick up a friend. We're going to go "window shop" at Barnes & Noble and Michaels, then go to Panera Bread for dinner before I go to my quilt group meeting later on this evening. It will be nice and cool in the shops!

Take care,

I think it's the heat. It saps all of your energy but a trip to shop and meet up with friends always helps!

I agree with Vicki, I think the heat/drought has a lot of us feeling a bit 'down'. Your evening sounds like a wonderful way to beat the 'blues'. I wish I were there to go with you. It all sounds like such a treat. Hugs of light and love.

I think your home should be in House Beautiful. Love the pillows. Hoping a nice dinner and some exciting quilts at the meeting will help cheer you up.

I love the green zebra pillow! Are dahlias the ones you have to dig up in the fall? If so I should put some in pots next year and they could winter over in my heated garage.
I'm down at times too. Sometimes there are too many overwhelming things to handle and it's panic mode. I feel brain dead then too. That is why I always keep a folder of photos ready to post in case I'm having one of those days. I know you have a lot of beautiful photos, hint, hint!!

I know how you feel. Sometimes i'm just zipping along, accomplishing things, and others, just can't focus on anything, yet still feel bored.

Sounds like a great way to spend your day!

It's been so very humid here - not as hot as humid! We are having lots of violent thunderstorms with a good bit of rain. I'm not complaining about the rain - but the humidity has be feeling logy.

Your pillows are fabulous!

Your pillows are great and I agree with the prior commenter about how lovely your home is! The photo does look like something from a magazine.

It sounds like you're feeling obligated to blog. For me, that's a sure sign that I need to give myself permission to not blog. I generally then feel better. It doesn't help that its summer and hot and that should mean lazy kind of drowsy days.

I've not been blogging as often either. Give yourself permission to take a break when you need it. I love the pictures of your place though. Those pillows would suit me. I love them!
Your day out with your friend should raise your spirits.
Have fun!
