Last week's pillowcase effort...

Last week I finished four more pillowcases, in addition to all the cleaning and purging I've been doing around the house. And will continue to do until it's finally done. No matter how long it takes me. THIS is the year!

These four are probably better suited for teenagers rather than younger children considering the fabric choices.  Not nearly bright enough or "cute" enough for a younger child.

I've decided that I'll just keep making pillowcases until I get a good-sized box full and then I'll take them all to one of the local quilt shops in Pasadena that is collecting them on behalf of Conkerr Cancer. If I add these four to the three I've already made, I've got 7 so far.

It's for a good cause and it's helping me clear out my stash!

Take care,

These are so lovely, Terri. I just made a few myself and plan to put a short tutorial on my blog for making one of them. Finally, something I can finish in an hour -- isn't that one of the best parts??!

i love the idea of working thru some stash for such a great cause! i checked and there is no local branch of ConKerr Cancer in my area...but I think a local hospital does accept them...
and additionally...i would bet a nickel i have that same pink/polka dotted fabric in my stash from EONS ago!!

i should dig mine out and do the same thing you are doing with it!!

Teenagers get sick, too, and are often forgotten when we make charity quilts and pillowcases...good for you for thinking of them!

Great pillow cases! It's good that you have some for the older kids too.
