It was a beautiful day. Seasonably warm with a slight breeze. The kind of weather that makes you feel good to be alive. And we were doing one of my favorite things. I don't know why I love picking cherries so, but it really is quite fun. We always run into friendly people who are willing to share all kinds of recipes and stories. The group we met on Saturday has been coming to the place we pick for 28 years! They were funny and it was pleasant to listen to their conversation as we picked.

We picked 24 pounds this year. Way less than our usual 60 lbs, but with prices at $3.25/lb, we just couldn't justify any more. I guarantee you that they will be gone in just a few days. They taste soooooooo much better than ones you buy in the grocery store.

There won't be any cherry pie this year as all we saw were Bings. Big, beautiful Bings!
