Goodnight Irene - month two!!

Here are my month two blocks for the Goodnight Irene sew-along over at Terry's Treasures. Be sure to check out what everyone else is doing... Terry's got a linky party on her sidebar that she updates every month. There are some gorgeous quilts starting to take shape!! And, believe it or not - some have even finished their quilt tops. Overachievers!!

These are some of the squares I'm working with and I think they look a whole lot better on the table than they do in the quilt!

I love the "Goodnight Irene" quilt pattern, but I'm just not sure I love it in the batiks I've chosen. Thinking maybe I'll start all over...especially after seeing how pretty everyone's finished quilts are.

Take care,

I love your batiks! I just think maybe your background overpowers them a bit. Maybe try a plainer background with a block or two and see how that looks. Just a thought! :0)

I agree with Terry. I love the batiks too! Maybe a plainer background.

I agree with Terry, your batiks are fine, they just don't want to be friends with that X print.

I do love the batiks. Very pretty colors. I too was over thinking this pattern, and went with the neutral for my background color. This has been fun.

Love the batiks! I'm sure you'll get a great quilt with a more neutral background.

Stay with it... as you know, these blocks are fun and easy to make. Experiment until you find the right combination but, like everyone else, I love your batiks :)

I like your x fabric....I hadn't thought of using a print.
These blocks are fun to make, especially the x blocks.

I love the batiks too!!! But as the creative force behind your quilt - you are the one who has to love them. But if it were me...I'd keep them just the way they are. I love batiks!!
