A little mystery never hurt...

Today is my quilting class and although we all work independently most of the time, we are doing a mystery quilt together. Last week we were given the fourth clue and found out that the reveal comes with number eleven. Even with today's clue, we'll be not quite to halfway.

This is the first time I've ever done a mystery quilt and it's fun to see the results each week as we get another clue and complete the work. I picked fabrics from my stash because I didn't want to purchase any for a quilt that I may/may not love when it's finished. It was actually difficult choosing them because of the quantities required. With the exception of backing, I rarely purchase more than 2 yards of any one fabric - most of the time it's much less. So, this was what I ended up with and I like them together. They look like "Christmas" to me and some of the other gals in my class agree. I'm glad because I need a Christmas quilt.

I've also been working on the MATO hand applique at class because the lighting is so good that I can actually see to do it without my bifocals! Yippee! And, it's nice to be able to sit and chat and not really have to concentrate too much on what I'm doing.

Take care,

That sounds like fun....sitting and chatting while doing hand work at the quilt shop! I will look forward to having time to do some of that after I retire (in one week!)
