Still working on the HST/values quilt top...

I had hoped to have my quilt top all sewn together by now, but instead of staying home yesterday and finishing it up, I went out to lunch with a friend. The quilt top isn't going anywhere, right?

My wrinkly design wall is situated on the wall behind my sewing table with my ironing board in between. I get up and down to iron a lot when I'm sewing... probably way more than I need to, but I view it as exercise so I keep doing it.

My cutting table is on the other end of the room and requires even more walking back and forth, both to the sewing machine and design wall. Maybe that's why sometimes I don't seem to work very quickly. :))

I've wanted to make one of these quilts for a long while now and so far, I'm liking how it's coming along. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to start sewing the blocks into rows and assembling the top.

I also dragged out my hexagon diamond blocks (I can't find the link to an earlier post that showed quite a few of them - sorry about that) that I was working on a while ago and started thinking about how I can use them in a different way than I was originally planning. I pulled some fabrics and now they are sitting in their own little pile waiting for me to get inspired.

And, if that isn't enough, I've started pulling fabrics for a Fractured quilt. Sally took the class with Kathy and had rave reviews so that inspired me to want to make it. I finally got the book a couple of days ago and have been picking Sally's brain about how to choose fabrics, etc, etc.etc. I love her quilt and the fabrics she's used so far. I'm sure she's sick of my emails, but I do appreciate her knowledge and help. Vicki is also going to be making one so I'm going to join in with her and do it in September. I'm hoping that a lot of you will join in too... the more the merrier, right?

Take care,

I really like those fractured quilts! I'd be tempted if I didn't have a couple unfinishe ones myself.
Yours is going to be really pretty. Of course lunch with a friend is definitely a priority!

I also have my sewing room arranged so that I am on the move while I sew. I'll take some exercise any way I can sneak it in on myself!

Terri I would be up for joining in and making a fractured quilt - I thing that's a great idea. Bought the book a few weeks ago and having seen the photos of the girls taking the class from Kathy I need to make one!
