Walking, knitting, making blocks...

It's Friday already and while I don't have a whole lot to show for this past week, I have been staying occupied. In the last couple of months, I have somehow gotten out of the habit of walking. My excuses have been that it's too hot or it's too foggy, and while it's true that I don't do well in the heat any longer, I think they are really just excuses. I guess I just haven't felt like walking.

This week I woke up feeling like I wanted to walk again. I hadn't realized just how much I missed it. I love the slight breeze that is always blowing in my neighborhood, and I love to see what flowers are blooming now, if any. I love seeing the way the water drops sparkle on the grass and plants. I love the sounds too... the lawnmowers, birds chirping, kids playing and laughing, and planes flying overhead. It's amazing to me just how relaxing and refreshing a simple walk can be and I had forgotten about that. My legs are sore from a weeks worth of walking, but I'm already looking forward to my walk tomorrow morning.

Some days the sky and the way the light hits everything has just been beautiful... and difficult to capture.

I've also been knitting some more. I finished the first scarf I started (it's the goldish one) and it's needing to be blocked now, but in the meantime I started another one. Easy to do while watching TV in the evening and I can feel as though I'm accomplishing something in the bargain. This is my little knitting "pile" that sits beside me on the sofa. At least it's pretty! :)

And, I've been in my sewing room working with more scraps. I'm determined to continue working with my scraps until I see a dent in the piles, or at least until I can get motivated to pull out some UFOs and get them finished. I haven't been able to even look at my UFOs so it's probably going to be scraps for awhile.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Take care,

I need to get moving and start walking again. It's been ages. Love the BMFA yarn you are using again for the scarf! Love the blues that are in that color way. Have a great weekend Terri!

The colours in your knitting are just lovely Terri and I do like the pattern very much, also like what you are doing with your scraps.

I like to see you neighbourhood pictures. I try to do something physical everyday, a walk, a bike ride , a swim , or golfing right now. I've got a soft tissue injury in my leg so it's a challenge.
I keep a little knitting basket beside me on the sofa too.
Love a scrappy quilt the best!

LOVE the colors of your knitting pile! Wish I could knit!! Terri, I'm like you....the heat really gets to me, but once out in it, it's not soooo bad (yea, it is...who am I kidding? ha)

You have a lovely area to walk. Love the way you described the things that make your stroll enjoyable.
