We took a much needed 4-day weekend and visited one of my favorite quilt shops. Back Porch Fabrics in Pacific Grove. It's the most cheerful shop with it's wood floors and great lighting! Anyway, I'm always on the lookout for neutral fabrics with text, letters and/or numbers and I found a couple.
The "postmark" fabric is my absolute favorite.
When we got back I was excited to check my pics to see if I got any good ones. I can never tell what I've got just by looking at the tiny screen on the back of the camera. About the only thing it's good for (for me) is letting me know whether my exposure is good or bad.
I'll share just a couple with you....only because it is so beautiful up there.
We took an afternoon walk along the shoreline in Monterey, just beyond Cannery Row, in the lovely, warm sunshine.
We walked through a couple of antique shops and thrift stores where these lovely books caught my eye. I also love anything vintage with text on it.
We drove over to Carmel, of course. Not only because it's such a charming little village, but it's also where we got married. On a cliff overlooking the sea just a bit further down the road from here. 20 years ago.
We weren't sure we would be able to find the little cottage we stayed in at the time since it's been awhile since we were in Carmel, but we just happened upon it and strolled around the grounds. Even hubby remembered just how lovely the gardens were/are.
And, then on the way home we saw this unusual cloud formation with the sun streaming right through that hole. This was taken from a fast-moving car through the window. It was only 4:30pm and just a half hour later, the sun was out and shining brightly! We live on a beautiful planet, don't we?
Hope you enjoyed snippets of our little trip!
Take care,

Great fabric!!!
Looks as if you had a great weekend! Lovely fabrics (not what I think you'd normally pick, but lovely anyway) and great photos. Send some of that nice weather to the East coast please.
Beautiful pics,. Exciting fabric
We were in Pacific Grove for Thanksgiving this year -- I love that place! Back Porch is great, and Monarch Yarns is just as good. Not to mention that long walk along the waterfront... I think I could live there.
