So pretty...

I've got 11 Hydrangea bushes in my backyard and sideyards. It sounds like a lot, but it isn't really. My yard is situated in a way that provides half shade/half sun to almost everything planted there. Great for some plants, not so great for others.

On the courtyard/fountain side of the house there is one Hydrangea bush that I didn't prune last year and it's got so many huge flowerheads on it. They are absolutely gorgeous! I pruned every other bush and they are producing flowers but at a much slower rate and they are smaller flowerheads.

I just had to bring a bouquet of these inside to enjoy this holiday weekend.  Hope you're having a wonderful, relaxing, family-filled weekend!!

Take care,

You must have the perfect soil for hydrangeas...Mine were almost always white when I had them.

I haven't seen hydrangeas that color since I was a little kid and used to go the the flower shows in Chicago. They are beautiful!

I have two of the same color and love them! My mom always told me to never cut back, just dead head the blooms and the next year's blossoms will be huge. She was right!

Enjoy the weekend and your flowers.

Wow, have you been busy lately! Wish my hydrangeas looked as good as yours do; LOVE the NY Beauty quilt in progress; and your photos just keep getting better and better. Please bottle some of that energy and send it in this direction, won't you???
