Not your grandmother's flower garden...

I dug out the Hexies a couple of weeks ago and thought I might be able to work on them at a very slow pace. So far, so good. This is the most recent diamond I've been working on and as one of my quilting friends said, "this is certainly not your grandmother's flower garden." I love working with these vibrant fabrics to create these diamonds.

Until recently I wasn't sure how I was going to assemble them other than the traditional way. Then I saw a medallion quilt and it inspired me to try to use them in a border. So that's the direction in which I'm headed.

I'm having fun regardless of where I end up and that's the goal anyway right?

Take care,

Absolutely! And, yes, this is NOT your grandmother's quilt -- love the fabrics you chose.

Love it. I am itching to start a new hexie project using some brights. Can't wait to see more of yours.

Using them in a border sounds wonderful. With those fabric, it should make a luscious quilt! What a good idea!

I am doing hexies at the moment too. I started to follow the quilt along with Katy (i'm a gingermonkey). But along the way I made the flowers bigger and made some shapes similar to yours for the borders. Main culprit being here Brigitte Giblin whose book Feathering the Nest I just got from Quilt Mania. So inspiring! Looking forward to seeing more of yours!
