Our guest speaker...

last week at guild was Rosemary Eichorn. I absolutely adore her and her work! She reminds me a bit of Mary McDonnell (Dances with Wolves)...do you see the resemblance too?

Look at this sample for the lastest class she is teaching...What Comes Round. Isn't this gorgeous?

We all thoroughly enjoyed her lecture and slide show. She gets so much of her inspiration from photographs she takes and she showed us how she transitions from one to the other.

We even had several guild members model her fashions for us. They fit well and didn't look too bulky, which is always my argument with quilted garments.

Anyway, I didn't get good photos of all of them, but I did get enough to let you see just how talented she is. Take a look...

(Sorry about the heads in these last photos!)

And, this bustier was the inspiration for the jacket above.
I came home very inspired to say the least!!

I took a seminar with Rosemary at Asilomar a couple of years ago -- she's really a wonderful teacher and fun to spend time with.

All I can say is "WOW!" I'd love to be taking that class with her to learn how she created that beautiful piece of art -- if you're taking the class, I'd love to hear more about it!

These are lovely! I bought her book about 6 years ago when I started quilting and made a couple of vests. Believe me, they didn't look anything like her work, but I was proud of them. It is great to see how her work has progressed!
