Every now and then I get a few moments to work on my Eagle quilt. He's been "gridded" with water-soluble thread so I don't have to worry about quilting over a million pins and now I'm getting down to the quilting itself. I've started with the feathers and working from the "outside in." I'll finish the feathers and then concentrate on the eyes and beak. Yes, I'm a bit slow, but I've only got a million other things going on too!
I also want to take a minute to show you how pretty all 21 of the Jill Gordon fabrics looked when stacked atop one another. They are still on sale at 20% off!! This is getting my little brain in gear...I can see a gorgeous quilt using all of these fabrics.
And look what's happening to my Hydrangea's...I've never seen them do this before, but I like it. You know I love POLKA-DOTS! lol
Lastly, I tried some quilting on Ms Witchy and just didn't like what I was getting. So I removed the batting (after picking out just a bit of quilting) and am stitching without it. I'm going to concentrate on tacking all the pieces down and working on the hair before I pin it to batting and continue the overall quilting. It seems to be working out much better.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend!

The eagles eye is fierce! I've always heard you should work from the inside out. Are you able to work outside in because of the water soluble basting you did?
Gorgeous post Terri, all of it! xo
You have been one busy little bee. The socks from a few posts back look awesome! The yarn is very pretty. And I'm amazed by the witch and eagle quilts. WOW!!!
I've never seen a hydrangea get the polka dots. Pretty neat.
Your pieces are coming along beautifully! And polka-dotted hydrangeas!!! How cool is that??!! What a great subject for a quilt!

Your eagle is looking amazing, I think I'd go slow too, just to enjoy the process.
I love the eye! It's going to be one of your finest I'm postive of it.
I'm also going to see the fabric sale, thanks for sharing it with us all.
You do lovely work!
Can you share more about the water soluble thread? I'm trying to find a way to baste quilts without pins so I can play with my quilting design as I go. I love your eagle - the witch is spectacular! Thanks for sharing your process/progress. Loved the polka dot flower too:)
What we can see of the eagle looks wonderful!
