I'm a DIYer

Are you? I love to take old things and re-purpose them by painting them or in some way making them seem new again. That's what I did with this mirror in our bedroom. It's been hanging on the other side of the room, but we did a little re-arranging and I decided this mirror needed a color change. It was a garage sale mirror that we found 8 or 9 years ago for $30. What a steal. It's very heavy and quite well made and up until this weekend, it was gold. No longer.

This is the paint I used and it's great stuff!

I also painted this candle lamp, which was originally a mid-range dusty blue. This is much better and I'll be able to use it in my powder bath as soon as I can find a cabinet I like.

The color is ME221 - Warm Silver, just in case you wanted to know.

Ooooh... how lovely! and how clever of you to do it all by yourself! It is a lovely colour although it looks more warm pastel gold than silver from the photos.

I never knew you could use this paint in this way -- I thought it was only for crafts. You teach me new stuff every day -- thanks for the tip (love the lamp!!

Love what you have done it looks amazing> I love to do things like this too. I have been wanting to paint our bedroom set white it is now dark pine. It would be a huge venture so I just might dream or get it done professionally LOL.

Terri, you did such a terrific job with the painting. I would have never thought of doing that. I'm now looking around my own home with new eyes!

I'd LOVE to see more of your DIYing experiences!
