It's my birthday month...

I was recently given a lovely, possibly out-of-print, Kaffe Fassett knitting book. As I was looking through it and finding inspiration for both knitting and quilting, I came across these photos of a much younger Kaffe. I thought you may find them as interesting as I do.

I don't think there are any patterns in this book that I would use as they are a bit out-dated, but the knitting designs are incredible and I can see the inspiration for his later fabric designs.

I also received this great quilting/sewing tool at the same time. It's a Gingher Seam Ripper. Can I just say that I've put it to the test and it passes with flying colors! Wow...I love this tool!

He is a good-looking guy! In the beginning (some years ago..... ;o)) it was his knitting patterns that attracted my attention. I even knitted one of his jackets some time, but it took long time to knit - lots of colours and patterns. Sadly I dont know where it is now.

Happy birthday Terri! So does that make you an aquarius too?

thanks for the Kaffe photos. If you hadn't said i would not have recognised him! (in the sweater that is.. the studio environment is so 'Kaffe' that would have been a dead giveaway!).

I also remember the knitting days but more the kits and the knitting than the face behind it.

What a handsome man! Where did you find that seam ripper? I love gadgets - I'm definitely going to have to try one of those. Especially as much as I use a seam ripper!

Wow. Handsome man, and he still is. Seam ripper looks interesting. Checked the price of it--kind of pricey, but I'm glad you like it. Sally

Happy Birthday month Terri!!
I've never seen or heard of the Ginger seam ripper, but I don't get out much. I'll have to check it out - it seams to be a tool that I'm always using!!

Happy Birthday Month!

Great photos! He's handsome enough to have been a runway model!

I've never seen the seam ripper before. Do you like it better than the traditional seam rippers?

Happy birthday month, Terri.

I believe I could comfortably use the word "hunk" in a sentence about the guy in those photos. I doubt I could have identified him without the name, but I can see it now. He's definitely a guy I'd turn pages to look at again.

Yay, it's your birthday!! I think you need to do some celebrating. I am sitting here right now with my mouth hanging open, is that really young Kaffe??? Wow, unbelievable.

Happy Birthday to you!

Kaffe looks like a teenager in these photos! I have some of his older knitting books, as well -- interesting how much our knitting tastes correlate with our quilting tastes. Hard to separate the two!
