Christmas desserts...

I'm looking for a special dessert for Christmas Eve dinner since that's what I'm responsible for bringing. I want to do something a little different, but still seasonal. I found the following recipes...

Buche de Noel (Yule Log)

Cranberry Swirl Cheesecake

Shortbread Tarts with Cream Filling

Red Velvet Cake

which one(s) should I try?

The Yule log is of course very seasonal. I have never had it (never had any of them come to think of it...) but read about it on another blog, they were making it too, can't remember who it was....

Personally I like the creamy yellowy things so i would vote for option 2 or 3. If you are bringing and it is for desert, I would go for the Cranberry Swirl Cheesecake... it looks yummy, bound to taste yummy and with the cranberries seasonal enough but more unusual...

Sorry I took so long to get there.. Short answer:

Cranberry Swirl Cheesecake!!

I would choose the tarts...they look so yummy and at the end of the evening, they are easy to give to others to take home. also, smaller treats are more mouth poppingly easy to eat!

They all look very appealing. I say go with one chocolate and one other. The order in which they are appealing to me is the Buche De Noel, Cheesecake, Red Velvet and then the tarts. Can't wait to see which you choose. But you definitely have to have one choice be chocolate.

I'm voting for the cream filled shortcake...however, having them rest on a pan of fudge would be perfect LOL.

I vote for the shortbread tarts. No matter what you choose it will be great.

Oh my goodness, I think I gained weight just looking at these delicious desserts. The Cheesecake looks so yummy, but the Red Velvet is beautiful. Decision, decisions.

You can bring the shortbread tarts with cream filling to my house!! there is something about individual serving size that is appealing to me.

I'd go with the Yule Log. First it is chocolate, and second I've never tried one. Karmen

I suggest you try them all, and then send a sampling of each one to the blog fan who wrote the 11th comment on this post . . . . oh, gosh, that would be ME!

They all look SO good, Terri; however, I never met a piece of chocolate I didn't like, so I vote for the Yule Log.

Whatever you decide, it's going to be great -- enjoy!

It all looks good! But cheesecake! You can make it tomorrow and it will be good on Christmas day. I would think the tarts would be more last minute so the shortbread crust does not get soggy.

No wonder it's a hard choice, they all look equally delicious.
