Did I ever show you my stash? I don't think I have and thought you might be interested in seeing just a snippet of my sewing studio. It's too large a mess to let you see any more. I'm sure you all know how that goes. :)
This is just one mid-height cabinet and part of another. Each cabinet can accommodate four stacks of fabrics across each shelf. I've got four mid-height, five tall, and two short cabinets lining the walls of my room. My sewing table and cutting table are located in the middle of the room and my design wall and ironing board are located against the only remaining wall in the room (which is to my back as I'm sewing.)
All of these cabinets are loaded with fabric! Keep in mind that I've been collecting quilting fabrics since 1989 and am just now at the point where I'm going to purge myself of some of it. Truth be told, I need room for newer fabrics! :))

Well I wish I lived closer to you! I'd come over and raid your stash. Gorgeous.
Gee, if you need help purging, give me a call. I'd love to come over and play! It just might take me a whiloe to get there...
I bow to your stash! You are my hero. Fabric or yarn, it makes no difference. You know how to stash!! Awesome!
Whew, I'm glad someone has a stash that rivals mine! I have the old early 80's fabrics boxed up in the basement. I have given some away, sold some and still have a couple big boxes full.
Purge away - it is so freeing! & it is fun to visit with old friends & say good bye to those who do not hold you attention anymore.
Oh man, I am positively drooling! That is some serious fabric yumminess!
Ofcourse you'll need to make room for new fabrics!Throw the old stuff out: sent it to me! ( can you see me drooling?)
You stash is certainly a vision of beauty...and envy! and so well kept? is it seriously always that neat and tidy, lovely!
Wouldn't it be great if quilters could organize a stash swap? Bring all your unwanteds to a location, and exchange fabric pound for pound. What fun! I'd dive into your stash anytime, Terri!

I love your stash! What size are the pieces? Are they FQs or 1/2 yard or larger? I am curious because after moving two weeks ago I am about to put my sewing room together. I like to hear and see how others work with their stash. I have a pretty extensive stash also and I have some very large pieces but most of my stash is 1.5 yards or less. I tried to purge before the last move (a year ago) but was able to let go of only about 15 yards. Not much of a dent. :)
Oh, what fun it would be to play in your stash!! All that wonderful colour is SO enticing!
Oh what a marvelous stash Terri, I love it, doesn't it look beautiful all sitting there on your white shelves? I can't believe how much more inspired I am now I have my fabric sitting on open shelves where i can see it all. You must be sooo inspired by this stash!!! I get what you mean about having to purge some of it though, to fit in the newer fabrcis. xo
Still catching my breath!!!
What a stash!!!!
Andi :-)
I'm speechless Terri!! I have never seen this much fabric outside of a retail store!!! I can't imagine how much fun it would be to have all of that available to choose from!! Lucky you.
Can I come play in your studio? That is just fabulous. I say you can never have too much, right?
Thank you for almost letting us into your inner sanctum LOL. You have a LOT of fabric :0)
Crispy
What a yummy photo! How do you categorize your fabrics? stacked as received? By collection? Color?
What can I say !!!!
oh WOW! wish I lived closer to you... You can lock me in there happily for hours on end! just admiring stroking and making combinations..... amazing...
if there is anything you yearn for from the UK and want to swap some of that loveliness you will let me know won't you?
I will put this up in my sewing room... then whenever I get a comment about my stash (which is modest anyway...) I will point to your picture!
And what a great looking stash it is! Very organized... Lovely... 8-)
