I took a couple days last week and dyed some fabrics, t-shirts, and beach sarongs. I love dyeing fabrics and usually just mix up some colors and go for it. I'm not a planner when it comes to dyeing. I love washing the fabrics after they've been batching and pulling them out of the dryer to see what surprises I've got.
I did a two-color run using Better Black and Bronze and I absolutely love how it turned out. My photos do not do any of the dyed fabrics justice. They are very deep colors and very color-saturated!
Another two-color run using Lapis to Black Cherry. I love these colors! Honestly, I need to dye some medium and light shades, but I just can't seem to force myself to do it. :)
This photo shows all the fabrics I did. I haven't taken photos of the t-shirts or beach sarongs yet, but will do that soon! Two of the t-shirts are gifts so I don't want the recipients to see what I've done just quite yet!
Lastly, I did a two-color run using Olive Drab and Sun Yellow. I didn't realize that I was using a different fabric than I normally use and that it has a flaw running through it too. You can see the flaw in the photo - it's a lighter line across each piece of fabric.
Since I can't sell this fabric and I have a LOT of this color in my personal stash already I thought it might be fun to give-it-away. It's really quite mottled and lovely in person. If anyone is interested in this fabric - eight 1/2 yard pieces (that's 4 yards) - just leave me a comment and I'll pick a random winner sometime next week. I would love to hear what you might use it for.
Take care,

I am doing some quilts for my guild and would love to use these and donate the rest of what I do not use!
By the way the fabrics look so pretty!!
Our quilt guild is making a raffle quilt for next years show and we are using batiks...I think your fabric would work lovely in the quilt. Im sure I would keep a smidge for myself cause it's too pretty to give all away, but otherwise!!!
Thanks for the chance.

Oooo what a wonderful giveaway!!! The fabrics are so yummy. I would use it in my Dear Jane/Dutch Treat/Quilted Diamonds combo quilt.

I love the green fabric. The "flaw" just adds to the character of the piece!
I love the unpredictabliltiy of the hand dyed fabrics. That Better Black and Bronze looks beautiful on my monitor. The camera just can't capture the depth of the really saturated colors though.
I'm sure I could cut around the flaw on the green, LOL.
What a great giveaway! I think this fabric dying might be addicting! I would love to add this to a "guy" quilt I am making :-)
Oh, my gosh, they are just beautiful! I love them all and just love hand dyed fabrics. Please enter me in the drawing. I would love to be the recipient. You did a fantastic job with the gradations.
I'd pass the fabric on to my mom who is looking for fabric for making scrappy 4 patches as her winter handwork project. Green goes with everything!
I love your fabrics!!! they are gorgeous!!!! and the ones you are giving away are in my favorite color!!!! good job!

These gorgeous hand dyes are one color that's missing in my stash of batiks. They'd be lovely in a winter/Christmas quilt I'm planning.
Hey Terri, I can't imagine how much time you spent dying all of that fabric (plus the t-shirts etc.). You did a great job and I would love some of it! I think I would use it for another version of the Spicy Spiral that I just completed. It would be great in your color variations.
Thanks for visiting my blog. I love Boothbay too. Downeast magazine this month has a list of the 10 prettiest harbors in Maine and Boothbay's right up there.
Then I come and explore your blog and see those wonderful dyed fabrics-they are awesome. So put me in the hat for the giveaway. I think that color you are showing would be great in a fall quilt. Perfect for my New England setting!
Your fabric is to "dye" for! I tried dying fabric-once-not a big success even with a pro guiding us, I will leave it to the afficiandos like you & just buy it!
Thanks for visiting my NYB, I'm sure yours will be gorgeous it's amazing how well these designs turn out. Please show & tell when it's done!
Your fabrics are beautiful. I've always wanted to do a bargello or some type of colorwash and I think they would work great.

Very yummy colors!!!
OMG Terri!
These are gorgeous! Those greens, especially, send me !
Beautiful fabric in spite of the flaw. I have lots of brights and I'm always looking for something to contrast with them. These would be perfect. Please count me in.
I love to applique so the great colours would be marvelous to use. I are also running the Block of the month for my local quild so the materials would come in handy. I would hate to call them flawed as they can be used. Please count me in
Your fabrics are so beautiful, I just want to pet them. I'd use them in my landscape quilt. I'm working from a photo I took at Fitzgerald State Marine Preserve. Very tranquil setting and a perfect setting for your hand dyes.
Are you kidding, I love it when dyed fabric is sort of mottled, it gives it some life. I also love giveaways (hint I'll be having one soon). This fabric would make a nice coiled bowl.
I would use the fabric in an art quilt piece. The fabric looks beautiful!
I love your results from dyeing. I would love to be the recipient of those muted colors.
Oh, I know exactly what I would like to do with them - make a Bali Bag! It is a corded, coiled bag much like the Australian aboriginal women make - a great 'Jungle Bag'!
Hugs - Lurline♥
Beautiful fabric! Amazing colors!
Hi Terri, what beautiful fabric, the colour wash being so unpredictable, hmmmm the choices for these fabrics, limitless!
Your fabrics look great!
What would I use those fabrics for? I recently came across the one and only block that I completed for a tree of life quilt. I was thinking that it was time to revisit that idea and these would be a great addition to my leaf fabrics!
I did not know you were dyeing fabrics. You have an incredible eye for colors. Such beautiful, saturated, rich colors.
Your work is beautiful and to think you are willing to give it away!!! I'm home recovering from some heel surgery working on making flowers from hand painted and dyed fabrics. Your fabric would be perfect!
Lovely giveaway! If I won, I might try a Ricky Tims Convergence quilt. Thanks for the chance.
Wow! what a generous giveaway. I adore greens (especially this shade/tone)and I would love the chance to use these in one of my art quilts.
These are stunning. It would be a pleasure to use these in a quilt. Please include me in the giveaway.
You are so speaking my color language! I LOVE greens! and my latest combo, that I'm trying to recreate in the sewing room redo is aqua and fern green with cream...a very airy beachy color scheme...I love it. I started a selvage edge valence (only aquas and greens) and want to 'frame' the valence to unify the two windows...this would work perfectly! THanks for the opportunity.
