This quilt was made for a small child with a turquoise and orange room. I found this "circus" fabric which contained the perfect colors. It was basically a horizontal stripe, which I could have "fussy-cut," but didn't. Then I used several different oranges and turquoises for the sashing. It was a fun quilt and the recipient and his parents were very happy with it!

I believe, at the time, I was still stippling every quilt I made. I wanted to try other quilting patterns but hadn't yet found the courage! :)

Remember the mustard field? My DH and I were driving by it again on Sunday and I was able to get even closer down into the field. It just gets more and more beautiful as it continues to grow. There were lots of bees which I know is a good thing, but it stopped me from getting an even closer shot.

What a perfect gift! The right print can be the inspiration for it all. We visit our son and DIL in Westlake Village regularly. I'd like to meet you sometime. (We're in the inland valley)

Really cute quilt! I just love looking back at the quilts that I made, as my kids would say "back in the day". I guess I missed the original post with the mustard field. But I went back to check it out and what lovely photos! I guess I really never knew what mustard fields looked like, just gorgeous!

The circus quilt is very cute. And the pink and green one in your last post is very pretty. Love the colors. :)

I'm not sure I've ever seen a mustard field before. If I had I wouldn't have known what I was looking at. Very pretty yellow though isn't?

Have a grand day!
