International Quilt Festival in Long Beach begins Thursday night with a preview, and continues through the 26th! I'll be there on Friday with a few friends and we'll see how this year compares to last. I heard the rumor that the City of Long Beach was not prepared for the sheer volume of quilters that descended upon the city and convention center last year. I'm sure those problems will have been corrected for this years event!

Long Beach is a wonderful city, by the way. The convention center is directly across the street from the Aquarium, which is great fun, and the Queen Mary is just around the corner, so there's no shortage of things to do and see! And, if that's not enough, you can hop in the car and drive over to San Pedro to eat at an outdoor fish market where the food is exquisitely good! There are also many wonderful restaurants within walking distance of the convention center, though, so a car is not an absolute necessity.

Anyway, whatever you do....if you go, HAVE FUN and SPEND LOTS OF $$$ :))

Thank you. Your insight is very helpful, as I don't know the area all that well.

I'm actually coming by way of a boat, so I'll be at the LBYC. The local bus service has been very helpful. And it sounds like a bus in LB is only ~$1.10 and runs every 15-20 minutes. I'll be able to take a bus from the Marina to the Convention Center very easily....and hopefully have time to explore a few more places too.

I'm looking forward to it.

I was there last year and the local businesses just didn't know what to do with all the people! Lunchtime was mayhem... I'll be back this year (Saturday & Sunday) & hope they're ready for us!

Hi Terri, I just found your blog and web store because Crispy blogged about it. We just love it when she shares the links to blogs for fabric and giveaways. :)
I went to Long Beach last year and stayed at the Queen Mary with my sister and several friends. We had a wonderful time. We couldn't make it this year so I'll be interested to hear how it was. I hope there are more vendors and the show is a big success.
