We first made a piece of woven cloth from our selected fabrics...

and then we were asked to create a plaid from our woven piece...

Our next assignment was to create some stripes...

and, lastly, we were asked to combine all these elements into a quilt, wall hanging, etc...whatever we wanted. This is where I got stuck and could only think of doing this....

but the problem is, I didn't use the rest of my woven piece and it seems way too busy to me. It needs some quiet area for the eye to rest but where and how? Got any ideas??

I don't think it needs any quiet areas to rest. It has depth created by the grid of the plaid. The energy is rushing off the edges by following the stripes so it might need containing with some kind of border or wide binding.
I think it is beautiful!
Terri, I think it looks great.

I took that class awhile back. I made a big door hanging for the outside of my inner apt. door. That way I don't have to look at it all the time....*S*...it IS pretty busy.
