Do you save?

your "clean-up" cuts (as Wanda refers to them?) Well, I do! I've got lots and lots of them, as you can imagine, just sitting and waiting for me to use them.

I've made journal covers, pot holders, aprons, tote bags and pillow covers using them and it's a lot of fun. What do you make with yours?

  1. I love scraps. All kinds of scraps. Just last week I made my first string quilt, but instead of sewing them on the diagonal, I sewed them into blocks, cut them in half and made a delightful little wall hanging. I posted it on my blog.

  2. Do yarn scraps count? I save all my sock yarn scraps, baskets full. Use them for scarves, mitered squares, etc. Have a terrific weekend!

  3. This stuff is to expensive to get rid of...I love cards made out of scraps. I have done a scrappy belt out of scraps. I have done a small play purse for my daughter out of scraps (she LOVED that)!! Scraps are fun!

  4. When I see the cute stuff people make with "strings," I wish I was better about keeping them. I have such a problem with clutter anyway, however, that I tend to throw them away... The are awfully pretty in your basket, though. I may need to rethink this... :-)

  5. I am working on a charm hexagonquilt with my scrpas and scraps that my cyber friends send me. Each hexie is 1/4 and right now I have 1900 attatched.

  6. The scraps in your photo all look so nice together! My scrap bins are such a mishmash that it's hard to envision them going into a project together without a lot of kicking and screaming...

  9. I have another whole box full of Kaffe cutaways from cutting for my triangle quilts. I will make another set of quarter log cabin blocks and use another of the layouts I showed when I did the first one.

  10. Lots of ways to use those clean ups! Mine aren't quite as organized as yours.
