At this stage, I've got each block sewn together and I'm auditioning fabrics for the center of each circle.
Once I've made my center choice, then I have to remove the vellum from the back of each block before proceeding. I've found that if I spray the vellum with water and let it sit for a minute or two, it softens up and is much easier to remove.
Now it's easy to sew the centers to the blocks using invisible thread (I use Madera) and a blanket stitch.
I'm having fun, can you tell?
I love, love, love how you are making use of the Kaffe fabrics. It is so fun to see the way they look together with each other. Rule of thumb: never throw away a Kaffe scrap. Have fun!! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have a bunch of dotted fabrics. This looks like the perfect use for them. I may need to make a version for myself to use them. Thanks for the idea ... now if you also have some clues for me to find more time...

The pattern is "Completely Dotty" and it's a Piece O' Cake pattern. You can find it on their website. I linked to it in a previous post about this fun quilt.
