I took the long way home!

I had to make a quick trip over to the post office this afternoon, and on the way back I decided to take the long way home.

The air is so clean and beautiful after our two recent rain storms and everything is so green. It used to be this green almost every spring, but now this is rare and it's a treasure. A bit more rain has been predicted for the end of the week, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we actually get it.

These photos were taken on the road leading to the Sycamore Canyon trail head, which is only about a mile from my house as the crow flies. I know I'm blessed to live near such beauty and I try very hard not to take it for granted.

After I got back, I made Lemon Curd and a Texas Sheet Cake. I'm planning on sharing this with my Tuesday quilting group tomorrow.

Take care,

  1. Gorgeous views. And, what is a Texas sheet cake? Is this the same recipe as your lime curd only using lemons?
