These took forever!

I've finally finished the socks that I've been working on for quite awhile. Knitting one row a day is slow going! I could have knit the pattern down the foot, but decided I wanted a simpler foot this time since my shoes hide the foot portion anyway!

I can't decide whether I should put away my knitting completely or cast on for a new pair of socks and try to continue to knit one row a day. They will take forever to make, but they will get done.

On the other hand, if I put it all away for a year or two and give my arm/shoulder time to heal/rest, I will probably be able to knit again at my normal pace. Some decisions are so difficult to make! lol

  2. You need to put your knitting away for a year to heal? That's MAJOR. It pains me to think of you not being able to knit for a year but maybe you should. Maybe you'd heal even faster. Can you quilt?

  3. Take it from one who knows. Put away the knitting for a year or two and save your shoulders/arms/wrists. It will be so worth it in the long run!

  4. I prefer them with the plain foot. Any patterns on the feet bother me if there are ridges. They're very pretty.
well, form my experience with similiar things. You can rest it up, but a s soon as you go at it again it will come back. You have to rest it some and then it's moderation. I've had to change my exercise routine so that I do something different everyday.
Even my knitting, I knit a row rest a row and so on.

  5. Your socks turned out beautifully. It sounds like momsue84 has some wise advice for you. It may not take a year or two, but giving yourself a rest will probably give you more years to knit.

  6. You make amazing socks. If I have a go one day and strike trouble, I know where to come for advice. Take care of the arm and shoulder.

  7. Oooo pretty socks and it does make a lot of sense to leave the foot plain. Yep, I guess I have to agree with the others, you really do need to put up the knitting for a while.....but it will be hard!!

  8. Nothing is more important than your health, Terri -- bet you didn't know that you had a league of mothers reading your blog, did you?! Now, listen to mother and rest up -- you need to be your best creative self in the months to come.
