It's been a hellish two weeks and I'm exhausted.
You don't really want to know it all, but I will say this...my computer crashed two Thursdays ago and I was totally without a computer until we had to go get a new one on Monday. Even then, I had no access to any of my programs and/or information while the old computer was being repaired. Now it's back and hooked up so I can do a few things to get caught up, but I still have a lot of work ahead of me. The new computer is Windows 7 which means patches and/or all new software for most of my programs. Then how to figure out how to transfer data. Oh my....my brain is tired just thinking about it. Weren't computers supposed to make our lives easier? lol
In the meantime, I haven't been able to knit, but I have - very slowly - been working on my hexagons. Surprisingly, it's been a real pleasure to sit and sew these together by hand. I love doing bindings so I guess I should have realized I would enjoy this type of hand sewing too.
I love the backside of them too! It's a whole different look and certainly inspiration for another style quilt.
Sewing these does require my bifocals! lol And, I'm using white thread - probably not the smartest thing to do, but I can't see the colored or even light grey thread. Growing old(er) is grand, isn't it?
Anyway, I'm able to process/ship orders now that I have a computer so if there's something you want in the shop, don't hesitate to order it!
Take care,
Your hexies look wonderful!!!!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of your computer troubles, Terri. There is nothing worse!! I love your hexies! Can't wait to see your FO. Hope your shoulder is doing better.
ReplyDeleteI feel your bifocal pain--and mine aren't doing the job anymore. I like your hexies--and that back does inspire thoughts of a different quilt! Computers are such great fun--hope your computer transitions be as painless as possible.
ReplyDeleteFabulous hexies Terri!
ReplyDeleteBad, bad computer.
I think we're all seriously addicted to being connected. If not addicted, I think it's safe to say that most of us would miss the internet.
ReplyDeleteThe hexies are looking great! As for eye sight, my close up sight is great but by the time they correct my distance vision, I'm blind up close.
Your hexagons are beautiful! If you have a wireless router, you can network your 2 computers and transfer your data that way. there is a also an Easy Transfer Wizard in Windows 7 if you don't want to pick and choose and want a lot of the same settings you had on your old computer. I have both of my 7.5 year old computers networked with my new Windows 7.
ReplyDeleteI understand your pain with the new computer. That's what I ended up with also and am having lots of problems (operator errors)! I love your hexies.
ReplyDeleteYour hexies are beyond gorgeous. You should be very excited about putting them all together some day. I also was surprised at how relaxed and content I am when I sit quietly and work on them.
ReplyDeleteI hope your computer troubles are over. Moving programs and data from the old to the new can be tedious and/or challenging, especially if one is Windows 7 and the other is Vista or XP. Been there, done that. They don't always play nice. Sending positive thoughts your way.
Ahha, this is why you have been MIA!! I'm so sorry to hear about your computer woes....such a big hassle!!
ReplyDeleteI love your hexes. Nothin' better than sitting with some hand sewing :0)
Crispy
association des couleurs très réussie super ce grand classique
ReplyDeleteIt's a love-hate relationship with the computer, isn't it?? The hexes are coming out beautifully -- what patience!

Oh Terri, computers are fabulous until they do horrible things like crash! I sympathize with you, what a headache. Loving your hexis though they are gorgeous, both front and back! xo
ReplyDeleteLove the hexes! Sorry about your computer troubles, yes it makes life miserable when they crash. Glad you're back.
