It was a wild ride...

I've been fighting a slight case of depression this week so yesterday amid all the crazy, changing weather, I decided to get out of the house and run some errands. I took my camera along just in case there was anything interesting to shoot and there was.

The weather yesterday was an example of extremes. Our early afternoon temps were as high as 90 degrees whereas just barely 2 hours later, it had plummeted to 73 degrees. We had nice, clear and sunny skies in the morning and then thunderstorms and huge cloud formations in the afternoon and evening. It poured one minute and was clear the next and that continued all afternoon.

When DH got home from work, I talked him into driving over to the beach with me in search of a great sunset shot. He went along and it was beautiful, but not with the spectacular pink and red colors I had been hoping for. The sky was much more interesting in a way that we hardly ever see out our way. Lots of gorgeous clouds in deep greys and blues. It was truly worth the trip.

It's been raining again this morning, but it's supposed to clear up by late afternoon. We'll see.

No sewing/quilting here to speak of. I took the Scrappy String down off the design wall because I need a larger space to spread it out. I've made a few more blocks and only have a few left to do. Soon, I'll be sewing all those blocks together and rather than a lap/bed quilt, I've decided it's going to be a wall-hanging. I have the perfect spot for it at the base of my stairs.

Take care,

  1. Beautiful pictures Terri, I particularly love the yellow flowers. Good for you getting out and about when you have some down days, much better than just hanging on the sofa! (as one tends to do..) I will have to follow your example xx

  4. I love the yellow poppies. It looks like a whole field of them. We're only in the 50s here and rain and 40s for Sat. so at least you have a little warmth out there.

  5. I enjoyed strolling around your blogs & store some yummy fabrics there!
I never thought about the Liebster award for fabric but I wonder if there would be a copyright issue with printing up your own?

  6. It really helps to get outside when I'm depressed. I always need exercise. Being within a drive to the beach is nice too. We're about 5 minutes away.
    Nice pictures!

  8. If you ever decide to change professions, photography is the next career you should embrace. Your pictures are so vivid, and the composition is always so artful. You make us feel as though we're there with you.
